Where is Your Thinking Place?

A Thinking Place is a private spot where you can go, undisturbed, to think, create, and make plans. Many creative people have several Thinking Places that they retreat to on a routine basis. One of mine is a comfortable chair in front of a window with a scenic view. A Thinking Place is important because it allows you to access your subconscious mind and helps build a bridge to your innate creativity.

For an excellent book on the various Thinking Places of famous people, check out:

  1. Great post, Kelly! I have many thinking places, too, and that's why I have little note pads and pens in so many places....my purse, the car, the ummm...powder room....my night stand, etc!!

  2. Thanks for the comment, Becky! It's always a good idea to be able to capture those stray thoughts and ideas because they may never come again!

  3. I don't have a thinking place. I still need to establish a writing place, but I do realize that I actually need to get away from the house to think about my book sometimes (or write).

  4. Hi Walt! A thinking place is important. I encourage you to find one. It can be simple. I remember my dad used to have this old ratty black chair that he drug around from house to house and always put in the garage. He'd sit out there at night sometimes for hours, doing "nothing" or so I thought as a kid. Now I realize that was his thinking place.

    Thanks for your comment.
